The next Saban? Prospects weigh in at Rivals 3 Stripe Camp Mobile

MOBILE, Ala – When the Rivals Camp Series presented by adidas checked into Mobile, much of the talk was about the defending national champions and the living-legend status of Alabama coach Nick Saban. But with the game’s top coach set to turn 67 this year, it’s not too soon to wonder which coach may become the dean of profession when Saban decides to hang it up.
Rivals.com polled dozens of recruits and asked them their opinions on who might become “the next Nick Saban” and take over as the sport’s most celebrated and successful coach when Saban rides off into retirement. Clemson’s Dabo Swinney and Georgia’s Kirby Smart dominated the conversation with nine and seven mentions respectively, but a number of other head coaches garnered mention. Below is a sampling of the most thoughtful responses.
“I’d say coach [Dabo] Swinney. He’s a great coach and a great guy. All the players love him and you can look at the success he’s had so far.
